# A Camper's POV (part two)

On Activities...

"You can always try new activities, it's you choice. And there are always other campers there to help you and encourage you. One of the thing you learn is to pursue what you want to do. Some of my favourite activities are climbing and archery. When you're in the middle of the wall in climbing, you see the end and it gives you motivation because you can see what you can achieve. It's a challenge and when you finish, you're so proud because sometimes, you really don't think you'll be able to get there. Having another camper belay you is a lot of trust as well, you have to have confidence in their abilities... so to make sure that everyone has fun, you have to try your best" - Emilie M., 12 year old

"I take language classes at camp. They're fun because we do a lot of game like, they say a letter and you have to think of an animal that begins with that letter. My favourite activity at camp is climbing though: when you get to the top you're so proud and you really feel like you've accomplished something." -Colette N., 9 year old

"I think in a way, this picture shows that you have limits (only 6 arrows and a bow) — not every arrow goes where you want it to to go, and it's frustrating but you know that you can always try again and... that helps with the frustration. I learned similar values at climbing, you don't always find the route the first time: your patience gets tested but you end up with more of it. These are things that you can work on individually, but you also always have people supporting you, people who are trying or who've already passed their levels, the activity heads, the people around who take the time to praise you. It's a very linear progression in that sense and I find it very satisfying, especially since it's so different from the ups and downs from the city." -Emilie A., 15 year old

"I took this picture because she just looked so happy to go to her activity." -Nelleke D., 11 year old

"There's a lot of people who like canoeing and not every camp has it. It makes me feel really independent to be on a boat with my friends. Camp is fun because everyone does their best to be nice and you get to do what you love — for me it's arts & crafts: I love painting because I can do whatever I feel like... I really like abstract art." - Sophia R., 11 year old
