Tell us about some of your fondest memories
My fondest memories of camp revolve around the laughs and friendships that I formed while at Ouareau. Giggling about everything and nothing, alongside wonderful friends will always remain in my heart.
What did camp teach you? What did you learn at camp?
Camp taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to, and that teamwork is key to success. Whether it was working with Don in work-week stripping logs to build the guest cabin, or navigating Mastigouche national park on my first canoe trip, I learned that we are stronger together, and that together we can overcome incredible challenges.
Any favourite activities or programs?
Land-Water-Relay will always be my most favourite activity at camp. Swimming and canoeing were always my activities as both a camper and a counsellor. Song-wise "L'arbre est dans ces feuilles" is still my fave, but my children cannot get enough of "Christopher Robin".. and when totally sleep-deprived, "Barges" seemed to roll off my tongue when they were babies!
Thanks to camp…..
I have the confidence to reach for the stars!
Tell us about why you think camp is important for children
Camps are important for children because it gives them the opportunity to be exactly who they are - no societal pressures, no judgment. They can build independence and spread their wings!
Tell us a little about your family, career and hobbies
I am married - to a man that was introduced to me by a fellow Ouareau girl (Johanna Malley) - she even officiated our wedding! I have three wonderful boys, Arthur (6), Nicholas (3), and Thomas (20 months). They keep me very busy, but all have a very fond appreciation for "the song book"!
I am a Partner at Deloitte in Montreal, and lead a team that specializes in internal controls, and am the Lead Client Service Partner for a large Global Mining client for the Canadian Firm.
With 3 very young boys, hobby time is limited, however my love for skiing has translated into weekends at Owl's Head in the Eastern Townships in the winter time. We spend every weekend in Knowlton at our cottage, and have a great appreciation for the peace that being in the country brings, after busy weeks in the city.
